HIGH-flying Newcastle Eagles soured Worcester Wolves’ weekend with victory at the University of Worcester.
Following the impressive win at Everton, hopes were high of back-to-back wins but Wolves paid the price for another slow start.
The visitors gained an 18-5 advantage in the first four minutes and only Anthony Paez scored for the hosts, finishing with 30 points.
Newcastle improved their lead to 20 by the 12th minute and the advantage remained the same throughout.
Wolves tried valiantly to get back into the game, urged on by the capacity crowd, and Skouson Harker was typically competitive.
For the third game running, Harry Disy returned a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The home team’s cause was not helped by conceding 41 free throws and turning the ball over 23 times.
Centre Justin Brown was Worcester’s man-of-the-match with 22 points and 18 rebounds.
