FURIOUS Worcester City manager Richard Dryden has promised to shake things up in the wake of his team’s humiliation at Maidenhead.

The St George’s Lane club slumped 5-0 on Saturday, including shipping two goals in the first 10 minutes, as their undefeated away record in Blue Square South came to an end in spectacular fashion.

Dryden read the riot act to his players during the warm-down and insists some will be axed for the visit of Welling United at the weekend.

He said: “Sometimes at away grounds you have got to weather the storm for five or 10 minutes or longer, like we did at Havant, soak up a little bit of pressure and find your feet.

“But we were all over the place. I am bitterly disappointed and there will be changes next week.

“I told the players a few home truths, I told individuals what I thought of them on that performance and what I expect of them.

“There were very few to come out with any credit.”

Having not been beaten in the league since August 25 before last Monday’s 2-0 home defeat to Team Bath, City have now lost twice in a week, failing to score in the process.

Dryden added: “We haven’t got any points out of the last six so it’s important we put that right as quick as we can if want to do anything this season.”

Midfielder Dave Bampton and centre-half Ollie Barnes will be suspended for the trip to Hampton and Richmond on Saturday week after picking up five bookings.
