GRAHAM Ward is expected to have shaken off a virus in time for Worcester City’s trip to Maidenhead United tomorrow.
The right-back is the latest player to have been struck down by a mystery stomach bug which has swept through the City camp in recent days.
Fellow defender Jon Rich-ardson missed the 2-0 defeat by Team Bath, while midfielder Dave Bampton was ruled out of Saturday’s match at Havant and Waterlooville just hours before kick-off and only lasted 32 minutes on Monday.
Marco Adaggio, Matt Dins-more, Craig Wilding and Sam Tyack have also been affected by illness in recent days but Dryden is hoping Ward will have recovered for the Blue Square South encounter.
The City boss said: “The bug has struck again. I got a phone call from Graham Ward to say he had it but he seems to think he will be OK.
“I think he will be fine to play. He came to training but you can see the difference it made with Dave Bampton think-ing he was fit on Monday.”
Dryden is hoping they have seen the last of the bug but joked: “Everyone seems to have had it, I can’t wait to get it because I need to lose about a stone and-a-half, but it seems to keep missing me!”
