DEFENDING Midlands Under 18s champions, North Midla-nds, will face Notts, Lincs and Derbyshire in this season’s final at the Super Sunday event at Broadstreet RFC next weekend.
North Midlands, who won the competition for the first time last season, booked their place in the final by beating Staffordshire 53-14 at Longton on Wednesday , while NL and D beat East Midlands 18-3.
Winger James Trueman (Solihull School) set North Midlands on their way to victory by running in a hat-trick of tries with number eight Matt Kvesic also scoring twice.
The Super Sunday event will feature all six of the Midlands counties with East Midlands playing Staffordshire to start proceedings in the fifth place play-off followed by Leicester-shire against Warwickshire to determine third place.
All games will be watched by Midlands selectors who will then name a squad to prepare for the Under 18s Divisional Festival at Broadstreet in December.
