TWO goals in the opening 14 minutes sent Evesham United on their way into the semi-finals of the Worcestershire Senior Cup.
Allando Davis and Gary Hay netted excellent goals, while Danny Scheppel went close to a third as the Robins cruised to a 3-1 victory at Bromsgrove Rovers.
Bromsgrove’s hopes were not helped when Keenan Meakin-Richards received a second yellow card after 36 minutes following his earlier part in a dreadful challenge on Michael Hayden.
It prompted a melee and bookings for Danny Hodnett and Graham Deakin.
Hayden was then booked as he was being substituted but the game calmed down after the break when sub Iain Sercombe fired in from 20 yards on 52 minutes after good work from Hay.
Keeper James Dormand made a fine stop to prevent Scheppel netting a fourth for Paul West’s side who were put under late pressure as Rovers tried to salvage pride.
Cameron Jones wasted a great chance while Dave Adey, on as a replacement for Joe Clarke in goal, saved well from Deakin and Chris Hanna.
Deakin netted an 81st-minute penalty consolation after Hanna had been fouled by Michael Batchelor.
Meanwhile, Nathan Jukes scored a late goal as Stourport Swifts went down 3-1 at home to Yate Town in their FA Trophy first qualifying round replay.
Malvern Town put up a good battle in the Worcestershire Senior Cup against Stourbridge but went out 4-2 after extra-time.
Lee Mussell and Reynolds scored for the hosts.
