WORCESTER Cricket Club held their annual dinner and presentation evening at their headquarters at Norton.
The event was once again a well-supported evening with over 70 people attending and after the meal and speeches the presentations took place, with chairman Roger Weston announcing this year’s recipients.
Richard Franklin won the first-team batting award and Matt Smythe the bowling.
Chris Genever and Chris Knapton took the respective second-team awards and youngsters Josh Jones and Adam Baker the third team prizes.
The Phil Knight memorial award was presented to Dan McKay for his achievements in first-team cricket for Worcester this year.
Oliver Peppiatt won the under 21 award, while the member of the year trophy was presented to Dave Sim-kins for all his efforts both on and off the field.
Worcester club president, Dr John Breakwell, then thanked last season’s overseas player Smythe saying that he had been a great ambassador for his country during the past season.
Breakwell went on to wish all-rounder Liam Weston all the best for his travels to Perth, Western Australia, where he is attending the Ace Cricket Academy for the next six months.
