WESTFIELDS extended their unbeaten run to six matches under new boss John Layton when they drew 3-3 with title contenders Boldmere St Michaels at allpay.park.

But the Hereford side should have taken all three Midland Alliance points as they led 3-1 after 70 minutes.

But individual mistakes led to the visitors clawing their way back and rescuing a point.

Fields took the lead in the 16th minute when Jamie Edwards capped a solo run with a tremendous finish.

In an end-to-end opening period, the visitors hit back to equalise through Mark Mason 12 minutes later.

Ashley Day and Mark Hibbard impressed in midfield as Mark Davis slammed home Edwards’ cross to put Fields back ahead on 44 minutes.

Edwards tucked home a corner in the 63rd minute to put Fields futher ahead and then Paul Allam’s effort was scrambled off the line.

But Boldmere struck back seven minutes later when the keeper dropped a cross and Jason Holmes pounced.

Fields then failed to defend a corner and Aaron Hamilton tucked away the equaliser.
