Evesham United 4, Clevedon Town 0
FOUR top quality goals ensured Evesham comfortable progress in this afternoon's FA Carlsberg Trophy first qualifying round tie.
However, the Robins should have fallen behind after two minutes when Nathan Vaughan saved Jonathan Else's penalty after a foul by Danny Scheppel.
The offender made amends after 17 minutes when he netted from close-range from Mark Owen's excellent cross.
It was 2-0 eight minutes later when Simon Fitter picked out Owen with a peach of a pass from 40 yards and the top scorer's control and finish were top-class.
Michael Hayden cleared a late effort from Chris Collins off the line but the hosts were home and dry after 53 minutes when Fitter curled in a superb free-kick from 25 yards.
It was left to substitute Gary Hay to wrap up victory nine minutes from time when more neat approach play saw Hay collect Owen's pass and shoot past Danny Greaves from ten yards.
