GRIMLEY Raceway welcomed warm weather and a good-sized crowd for a busy day’s racing.
With an additional three guest formulas, there was a bumper of 30 races programmed.
The event was also the final championship points Meeting for the seven regular Grimley formulas, so the racing was fast and furious.
The circuit conditions were perfect, leading to the lap record being broken three times in the two heats and the final of the fabulous two-litre hot rods.
The lap record now stands at 12.15 seconds and belongs to Alan Shelper of Taunton in his Volkswagen-based hot rod.
Racing in his junior hot rod, local youngster Charlie Martin also did extremely well, taking third place in the street rod final. All the trophies on offer at the meeting were sponsored by Brookside Taxis.
Grimley Raceway’s next meeting is the popular Skylighter event on November 2, which concludes with a bonfire by Pyrotechnics Firework Display.
