WORCESTER Shukokai Karate Club members came back from the Kimura Cup Championships in Stourbridge with a haul of medals.
SKF Squad member Josie Farrow took gold in the senior brown belt kata and silver in the female open kumite (fighting).
She fought superbly after her success at the world championships and is tipped by the club for a bright future.
Assistant instructor Audun Daniels, also a SKF squad international, took two golds in the senior kumite over 77 kilogrammes and senior black belt kata sections.
In her first contest, Georgina Lock gained bronze in the girls’ eight to nine-year-old kumite.
Jordan Alfonso and Steve Farrow added a deserved bronze each in the 15 to 17-year-old kumite and 35-and-over black belt kata respectively.
The men’s kumite team narrowly missed out on bronze after a bright display against some of England’s top teams.
Eighth dan chief instructor Shihan Eddie Daniels was pleased with the display and hopes this is a stepping stone for better things to come in the future from the club.
