KING’S Hawford’s under 11 rugby squad have begun their season with an impressive demonstration of free-flowing rugby.

Having started their local fixtures with two high scoring-wins against Moor Park (56-0) and Bishop of Hereford’s Bluecoat School (63-0), the team travelled to York to play against strong rugby-playing schools, Cundall Manor and Ashville College.

Impressive displays in these matches saw a 54-0 win against Cundall and a 24-5 success at Ashville.

The boys then had to face national champions Warwick School, playing really well to win the match 19-12.

King’s Hawford’s rugby coach Jason Broderick, who hails from New Zealand, said: “The team are showing great promise for the rest of the season and are beginning to display the skills that will make this team one to watch.”
