IT was a miserable day for Bromsgrove Rovers and Stourport Swifts in British Gas Business Division One Midlands as the Worcestershire sides were beaten 4-0 and 2-0 at home respectively.

In-form Nuneaton Town proved too strong for Rovers at the Victoria Ground, while Swifts crashed to defeat at the hands of Leighton Town.

Nuneaton took just 39 seconds to score their opening goal when Paul Spacey converted a Justin Marsden cross.

Jermaine Clarke twice went close for the hosts, but Town made it 2-0 when Spacey turned provider for Brian Quailey.

Neil Moore and Rob Foster completed the scoring for the visitors.

Elsewhere, Swifts conceded an early penalty, which was dispatched by Leighton’s Ben Gallant. James Hatch made it 2-0 after the break, before Swifts skipper John Snape saw red for an off-the-ball incident.
