EVENT organiser Cath Hudders recruited 104 players from 19 clubs to take part in the annual senior mixed am-am at the the Vale Golf Club.
The Bishampton course was in excellent condition and competitors had to contend with strong winds and occ-asional showers, but some great scores were returned.
The winning team comprised Chris Mitchell, Graham Jones and Jill and Alan Butcher, who carded an excellent score of 86 to win the event by two shots.
The club’s Sally Smith and Sylvia Andrews spent a weekend in Sweden playing in the Rohnische Masters, having won the category one qualifier at The Vale in July.
They competed against women from Norway, Sweden, Finland and the UK.
Lyn Habens and Sue Simpson represented the Vale at Crown Golf’s champion of champions competition at Cottesmore GC in Sussex.
It was a successful trip for Habens as she won the gross champion of champions prize.
Jan Garratt and Di Morris won the club’s Daily Mail foursomes qualifier with a nett 76 on countback from Rosie Loh and Jenny Braithwaite.
Other scores, stableford qualifier (Silver Division): 1 Lyn Robinson 34pts.
Bronze: Mel Drake 41.
Copper: Pauline Lee 36.
