KIDDERMINSTER Harriers chairman Barry Norgrove is hoping to secure extra funds for the club so that their push for the Football League can be maintained.
The Aggborough side are currently running over budget and the man in charge of the purse strings at the Blue Square Premier outfit doesn’t want to run the club into debt.
Working in development, Norgrove is feeling the pinch of the global credit crunch and says that he cannot afford to keep bankrolling the club.
But after the flying start Mark Yates’ men have made to this campaign he wants to give the squad the best possible chance of returning to the Football League.
“We are quite a bit over budget at the moment,” Norgrove said.
“We can’t carry on like this indefinitely, but we are not in a situation where Mark has to sell players.
“What will happen if we don’t get any investment is that the two players that we have on-loan (Lee Baker and Neil MacKenzie) will have to go back and we won’t be able to bring anyone else in.
“But given the start that we have had we want to give Mark that extra push.”
