FIVE members of Worcester and District Riding Club make up teams in two disciplines at the British Riding Clubs National Championships in Lincoln this weekend against the country’s best.
Intermediate show jumping team Jodie Aston, of Ombersley, Beth Evans, of Fernhill Heath, Vicki Hancox, of Lower Broadheath, and Rebecca Harris, of Fernhill Heath, qualified by winning the area 18 competition at Malvern.
Evans was not originally part of the team but was fifth individual and takes the place of Worcester’s Liz Warner, whose mount died during a storm. Hancox was individual second.
Style jumping team Evans, Hancox, Harris and Warner, on her own horse Fleur, were second at the area competition to make the championship.
The Worcester club won the style jumping championship in 2005 and hope to bring the trophy back to Worcester this year.
