STOURPORT’S women raise the curtain on their season on Saturday with the annual club day.
They will take to the field from 9.30am at their Kingsway pitches and play matches for the next two hours.
The season is eagerly anticipated as they celebrated 30 years last season with promotion for the first and fourth teams.
The firsts will now play in Midlands Division One, while the fourths join the thirds in Worcestershire League Division Two. The seconds are in Division One.
Anyone interested in more details on the club, who run sides from juniors to veterans, can call Holly Lashford on 07968-68262 (women), Paul Rees on 07881-786584 (men’s) or email Chris Corcoran at corkies@blueyonder.co.uk (juniors).
Meanwhile, hockey makes its debut at the nine-sport UK School Games tomorrow.
England face Wales before meeting Ulster on Saturday and Scotland on Sunday at the University of the West of England in Bristol.
Stourport’s Chris Griffiths is included in the boys’ under 18s squad.
Buckingham’s Abby Webb is a new addition to the under 18s girls’ squad.
