DUANE Darby has been axed as manager of Bromsgrove Rovers after less than a year in charge.
A club statement released in the early hours of this morning said: “Rovers have regretfully parted company with manager Duane Darby with immediate effect.
“This was a unanimous decision of the board following the poor start to the season which endangered the board’s and the fans’ desire to gain promotion.
“We shall be looking for a manager with a proven record of success to take the club forward.
“Saturdays match against Ellesmere Rangers will be handled by Daryl Burgess, the assistant manager.”
Darby took over the managerial reigns in December after the sacking of Rod Brown.
Rovers were unbeaten in his first 10 games but a dramatic decline soon followed and the Greens were relegated from the British Gas Business Premier Division.
