LUKE Jones feels if Kidderminster Harriers put in displays like they did in the second-half at Field Mill then the club will have a good season.
The Aggborough outfit found themselves 3-0 down at the end of the first period against Mansfield Town before adding some respectability to the scoreline by the final whistle as they lost 4-2.
But the former Blackburn Rovers trainee was buoyed with how Kidderminster played in that second 45 minutes.
“If we play like we did in the second-half at Mansfield then we will walk-over most opposition,” Jones said.
“I’m sick of saying that we have to take the positives out of matches, but we have to have belief in ourselves.”
“Sometimes, you have to play the percentages but, at the moment, we are starting badly and are looking like we are too easy to beat,” Jones continued.
Harriers are still looking for their first win of the campaign as they welcome Altrincham to Aggborough this afternoon (3pm). And the ex-Shrewsbury Town defender is keen to forget last weekend’s first-half performance.
“Our first concern is wiping that display from the memory,” he added. “We cannot start games like that again.”
Meanwhile, Harriers manager Mark Yates expects there to be some dealings before the transfer window closes at the end of this month.
Yates said: “We’re still looking to do a few things. One or two might be going out and one or two might come in.
“We want to keep our better players and those that will influence us as well as bringing in players who can make us better.”
Harriers visit Nigel Clough’s promotion-chasing Burton Albion on Bank Holiday Monday (3pm).
