WORCESTER City Supporters Trust have today distanced themselves from the current board of directors at St George’s Lane.
Following their inaugural annual general meeting, the Trust’s new board of Richard Widdowson, Colin Layland, Dave Wood and Gavin Fry, along with co-opted members Sue Bentley and Rob Crean, made a statement regarding the current turmoil at the Blue Square South side.
“It’s with great sadness that our first official action is to distance ourselves from the current board of Worcester City FC,” the trust said.
“And we call for the chairman and board to consider their positions at the club as a matter of urgency.”
Meanwhile, the Shareholders Action Group have nominated eight people for election to the St George’s Lane club board for when an annual general meeting is called before the end of September.
The action group have put forward Derek Jones, Paul Curtis, Richard Widdowson, Jeremy Pitt, Colin Layland, Richard Bentley, Alison Turner and Barry Ward.
With no date fixed for the meeting, the action group said they will submitting the nominations for election every six days until the meeting is called.
This comes after the action group broke off communications with the City board following the collapse of a proposed compromise deal.
