TOP-class riders from all over the United Kingdom will converge on Earl’s Croome, near Upton-upon-Severn, on Sunday for the 2008 ACU Pre-75 British Grass Track Championship.
Organised by Malvern and District Motor Cycle and Light Car Club, the event is for machines built before 1975.
The 250cc champion Steve Carvill, of Coventry, and 350cc and 500cc holder Gerald Short, of Tewkesbury, are among the solo competitors. Local riders include Pete Newman, Nigel Newman, Tim Curnock and Antony Curnock.
Practice is due to commence at noon with racing at 2pm.
There will be 250cc, 350cc and 500cc championship classes, plus a support class for bikes built after 1975 with upright engines. Worcester’s Scott Francis races in the 500cc sidecar support class.
