MALVERN Town’s woes in their British Gas Business Division One Midlands campaign look to have started early this term after slumping to two straight defeats.
Joe Rawle’s men must try to haul themselves out of the doldrums when they make the trip to Barton Rovers on Saturday (3pm) on the back of a crushing 7-0 mid-week defeat at Romulus.
The Langland Stadium chief branded Tuesday night’s drubbing as “rubbish” but is now ordering his charges to regroup for a hectic Bank Holiday weekend.
“We’ve got to pick ourselves up and not dwell on it too long,” he said. “I’ve said all along it’s going to be a season of struggle for us.
“But Tuesday night was just not good enough — it was a nightmare, rubbish.”
However, Rawle feels the perfect way to remedy such an abysmal performance is by getting right back out on the pitch.
“It’s best for us to try to get out onto the pitch now as soon as possible,” he added.
“With three or four players out, we haven’t got that strength in depth. If we haven’t got a full squad out, we will struggle.”
