NATHAN Vaughan has made a shock return to British Gas Business Premier Division new boys Evesham United.
The keeper left the Robins during the summer for Halesowen Town but after only one league game he is back with the Division One Midlands champions.
When Vaughan left Paul West’s team, the Evesham chief brought in Karl Lewis from Bromsgrove Rovers.
However, West says he was looking to bring in a new first-choice custodian despite the new campaign being one game old.
“First and foremost Karl is an Evesham United player and is on a contract here,” West said.
“But I don’t think things have been working out for him, which is nobody’s fault, and it was an area I was looking to improve.
“When I heard that Nathan was looking to leave Halesowen, I spoke to them, got permission to speak to him and it was all sorted pretty quickly.
“Stourport Swifts had put in a seven-day approach for him but Halesowen agreed to waive that as long as he doesn’t play against them on Monday.”
