HEREFORD suffered their third 2-1 reverse in three outings as Yeovil left Edgar Street with all three League One points.

Two goals in three first-half minutes put the visitors firmly in command and Bradley Hudson-Odoi’s late strike was little more than a consolation.

Darren Randolph paid the price for some shaky displays in the first two matches and gave way to Craig Samson, while Steve Guinan was recalled as well.

Hereford went close in the opening minute when Simon Johnson’s free-kick was flic-ked on by Sam Oji just beyond the reach of Moses Ashikodi.

The Bulls continued to produce some neat build-up play without finding the final pass which might have produced danger.

It was the visitors who had the next real effort on goal when a header from Terry Skiverton following a Terrell Forbes cross flew wide.

The Glovers then scored twice in three minutes to establish firm control.

On 19 minutes, Danny Scho-field’s shot from the edge of the area deflected off Ben Smith and went into the net off a post.

Then, a Johnson pass was picked off in midfield and Aidan Downes raced past Robbie Threlfall on the right before delivering a cross which Paul Warne rifled in at the near post.

Hereford forced five corners as they attempted to get back into the game but were unable to find a way to trouble keeper Asmir Begovic.

Samson, however, did have an anxious moment just before the break when Murtagh’s fierce drive screa-med across goal and wide.

From their best move of the match, Simon Johnson got away on the right and saw his fierce cross-shot palmed beh-ind for the first of three successive corners in the second period.

From the final one, Ashikodi appeared to be brought down by Begovic only for referee Darren Deadman to wave aw-ay Hereford’s penalty appeals.

Schofield’s shot on the turn from a good position flew high over before Hereford resumed the attack.

Yeovil continued to pose an attacking threat and substitute Danny Alcock headed inches over from a Lloyd Owusu flick.

Hereford’s hopes were finally raised nine minutes from the end when Begovic allowed a Smith shot to squirm from his grasp and Hudson-Odoi netted his first Bulls goal.
