WORCESTER Athletic Club men’s team are on the brink of yet another Midland Veterans Track and Field league victory.

Having won all three of this season’s meetings, they go into the final meeting at Nunnery Wood on Thursday with home advantage and an unassailable lead.

This will give the club the title for the 18th time in 19 seasons. An outstanding achievement for such a small club, taking on the might of Birchfield Harriers from Birmingham plus other leading Midland clubs.

Worcester’s women’s team are currently fourth behind Birchfield, Bromsgrove and Redditch AC and Sparkhill Harriers. With home advantage, the women are looking to improve their standing.

The first field event starts at 7pm, followed by the track events at 7.15 pm.
