WORCESTER RAIDERS manager, Jordan Lewis, says his side 'have to win on Saturday', following their first home loss of the season against Highworth Town.

In a scrappy game, where only a single goal separated the two sides, Highworth were able to capitalise from a loose ball at a corner to take home the three points.

"A draw would have probably been a fair result I think, there was not a lot in it," said Lewis. "It was fairly even, the goal that we conceded was very scrappy and very poor.

"We were not very good in the final third, some of our build-up from the back was decent, through the middle of the pitch was decent, but the final third just really didn't click. That was the bit that let us down.

"The goal we conceded was a corner, it was like a Royal Rumble in the box, it ended up hitting a few people, hitting the bar, and going in - one of them."

It was the sides' first loss at Sixways all season, ending an 8-match undefeated streak at home.

"We were definitely proud of that, the thing for us is the pitch is huge. It is the biggest pitch in the league by a mile," said Lewis. "Something we pride ourselves on is being fit and being able to cover the pitch well, I think that is a big part of our home form.

"It was obviously really disappointing, first home defeat. We have only lost four in the league and two of those are to Highworth so they are definitely our bogey side this season.

"I can’t really put my finger on as to why, they did defend well, very strong big lads at the back, no nonsense. But I think we definitely contributed to it by being poor on Saturday."

In their next game - playing at Sixways again - the side face up against sixteenth-placed Cirencester Town.

"I think Cirencester are in a bit of a false position. I know a couple of their players, they have got some good players," said Lewis. "But we have to win on Saturday, there is no doubt about it.

"Last time out we drew to Cirencester 3-3 away, in an absolutely chaotic game. [On Saturday] we are at home, we can't go back-to-back home defeats."

Raiders are currently missing a number of attacking options, however they will have Toby Moran back for Saturday's game, alongside the potential for a new winger to join the side.

The game kicks off at Sixways on Saturday, December 7.
