UPTON-UPON-SEVERN RFC increased their unbeaten record to ten games on the bounce, with a dominant display over Malvern Rugby's second team.

Despite the score line ultimately ending 22-0, in the favour of Upton, it was Malvern who dealt the first pressure of the game. Malvern pushed against Upton's attack, but were unable to broach their defensive line.

Following the onslaught, it wad Upton's turn to ramp up the attacking play. Despite the efforts of Malvern's defence, Upton were able to break through the defensive line and put the first points on the board. The following successful conversion put Upton 7-0 up early on.

The sides returned to a midfield deadlock after the try, where both teams remained tough defensively, and neither were able to break through.

Eventually Upton would get their second try of the game, breaking through the Malvern defence and adding to their score, however, the conversion attempt was unsuccessful.

Upton went in to the half time break up 12-0, and they would go on to extend their dominance in the second period.

Early on in the second half, Malvern looked to get back into the game. Mimicking the first half, they provided the early waves of attacking play, but Upton's stalwart defence held strong and their clean sheet remained intact.

Upton came back and scored twice more, neither conversion was successful, but it was enough to see Upton over the line in a dominant performance.

The win puts Upton clear at the front of the pack in the table, with 10 wins from 10 games.

Next time out, Upton play Kings Norton on Saturday, December 14.
