WORCESTER RAIDERS are hoping to 'put things right' as they play Highworth Town this Saturday (November 30).
Earlier this season, Raiders lost 1-0 to Highworth. After playing the majority of the game with 10 men, they conceded a controversial 96th minute penalty for just their second loss this campaign.
Since the loss, the side have been on a strong run of form, only losing once in thirteen games in all competitions.
Ahead of the fixture, manager Jordan Lewis said: "I think we are in a good place at the minute, we have got a good squad.
"We have got a few injuries, but we have got a good deep squad - so really confident ahead of tomorrow.
"[Highworth] are above us in the table so they are going well, last time we played them I thought it was a pretty even game. We had a man sent off and it changed the game but we defended really well and I didn’t think we were going to concede to be honest. I thought we would come away with a 0-0. The ref gave a handball decision in the 96th minute, which was very harsh.
"I think tomorrow you are probably looking at two even teams, if we are on it like we should be I am very confident we will win tomorrow and get a good result.
"We have got good results against the teams above us in the league already, everyone bar Highworth, so it is a game we definitely want to put right."
Like many teams in the area and around the country, Raiders' last game was postponed due to weather concerns.
"The momentum of winning games has been good," said Lewis. "But [the postponement] gave us another week to get some players back because we were quite short last week.
"Obviously good for us to have a week off, rest up, get the physio to have a look at a few lads and get some back for this week."
Raiders find themselves in eighth place in the league, within touching distance of the playoff spots - which they have aspirations of finding themselves in come the end of the season.
"It is important that we just try to win every single game, at the minute we have drawn too many games, not lost many but we have drawn too many," said Lewis. "The aspiration tomorrow is to win and win every time we play between now and the end of the season.
"At this point, we have played every team above us now and Highworth are the only team we have lost to, so it is an opportunity.
"We have to be be looking and say playoffs is definitely the aim – we have played these sides and we know what they are about."
