WORCESTER WOLVES' wheelchair basketball head coach - Lucas Warburton - is feeling confident of his sides' chances ahead of the upcoming season.

The side kick off their league campaign with on Saturday, January 18, against Loughborough Lightning at home. There will then be seven more fixtures across the regular season, ending on Friday, April 11, with the return fixture against Loughborough.

"We have got such a new group of players coming together, so many new players," said Warburton. "But we are in a really good place right now in the last run up to Christmas before the season starts in the New Year.

"We are looking really good."

When asked who to look out for, Warburton pointed towards two new signings that have been brought into the side following success in playing for Team GB.

"Two of our new signings Lucy Robinson and Maddie Martin, both competed for Team GB, Paralympics GB at Paris 2024 GB Women’s team, so there is two exciting new signings from this year."

Warburton's sides have lofty aspirations this season - but it seems well within their grasp, as they look to contest the play off finals.

"We want to really be competing for the play off final," said Warburton. "We've got a really strong, experienced squad while still maintaining a really young core that have got some really good developing players.

"So we are really hoping to be competing for the top two."
