CHRIS CORNES says his side 'probably didn't deserve anything out of the game today', but were still unlucky to suffer some poor calls from the referee.
City lost 3-0 away to Bedworth United, in a game which saw two penalty calls waved away by the referee.
"I think the ref's performance was probably as bad as ours," said Cornes, speaking after the game. "We had a stonewall penalty in the box where the ball has come in, and the lad has caught it virtually with both hands.
"I try to speak to refs but sometimes they are arrogant and they do not reply. Moments like that change the flow of games. If we get that penalty and we go and score it, you go on and you’ve got the flow of the game.
"As a team against that, when you know it should have been a penalty – like they have admitted – then the flow of the game changes, because they know they’ve got away with one. Within five minutes they have gone up the other end and scored.
"Those things change flows of games."
City lost defender Charlie Wise just ten minutes into the game, as he went down twice. A player that has been consistently strong for Worcester over the past few weeks, it was a knock to lose him so early.
"We have been consistent for a while with our back four, so it is always going to be difficult," said Cornes. "It shakes up the rhythm of what we are doing a little bit, but the lads are at the club for a reason and they should be able to step in and do a job. For the three goals it is the worst defending I have seen in five, six, seven weeks really and we have gifted them three goals in a game where it was pretty even apart from a few moments. They got on top in the second half and deserved to win it."
The result sees City's winning run across the month come to an end. However, six wins on the bounce before this fixture sees them maintain their high league position.
"We have been on a good run, and we can’t grumble with the month that we have had. Its been an absolutely fantastic month," said Cornes. "Maybe we used all our luck up last week with the bombardment in the second half, when we were a very depleted squad, with a couple of young lads on the bench and a very depleted eleven.
"We probably didn’t deserve anything out the game today, but if we had gone and won one of those penalties, these things change games, and unfortunately we were on the end of one today. But they deserved to win the game because they kept knocking on the door and they got the result."
