WORCESTER CITY WOMEN'S FC cruised to victory in dominant fashion, winning 4-0, to move out of the relegation zone in the FA Women's National League Division One Midlands.
The impressive performance saw captain Jess Fassnidge grab a brace, with City scoring early and never looking back.
Worcester took the lead just 17 minutes into the bout. Annie Highway drew the Lincoln keeper out, shooting from the left. The keeper fumbled the catch and spilled the ball at the feet of Fassnidge, who was more than happy to tuck it home for the opener.
Despite the lead, Fassnidge did not let up, making a statement by scoring her second just three minutes later. Leah Ritson broke through on the left, before feeding the ball into Fassnidge. The skipper struck the ball into the back of the net to conclude what was a dream opening 20 minutes for City.
Lincoln grew into the game for the remainder of the first half, shoring up their defence and managing to keep out the Worcester attacks.
City were not content with their two goal lead, and came out from the break hungry for more. It took less than 15 minutes for them to further compound their lead. Leah Ritson was fed the ball by Highway inside the box, she struck it hard into the back of the net, beating the keeper.
In the final 10 minutes of the game, City bagged their fourth. Keeley Crew came off the bench, and found herself one-on-one with the Lincoln goalkeeper. Crew beat the keeper, before striking into an empty goal to see Worcester out as 4-0 victors.
Worcester's next game sees an exciting fixture against tough opponents as they take on West Bromwich Albion Women in the Adobe Women's FA Cup on Sunday (November 24).
