FORMER WORCESTERSHIRE CRICKET PLAYER, Joe Leach is returning as the Worcestershire Cricket Society's guest speaker on Monday, November 18.

Leach first debuted for Worcestershire 11 years ago, initially serving as a top six batter. He captured his first century against Gloucestershire in 2013.

Leach evolved as his career went on, instead becoming the primary bowler for the side. He scored his 450th first class wicket last summer.

His bowling prowess is easy to see, Leach was the County's leading wicket-taker for six seasons. With his best ever record coming in the 2017 season as he picked up 69 wickets - his bowling was vital as the side secured promotion to Division One of the County Championship that summer.

Leach was awarded a testimonial by the club, for the 2024 season. Speaking on the testimonial, Leach said: "It’s a pinch yourself moment really, not something you can ever expect to achieve.

"You look to the people at the club who’ve had testimonials since I started and it was kind of reserved for legends of the club, I certainly don't consider myself that.

"Everyone says your playing career produces some of the best times of your life and I’m proud to have been a one club man with a great club."

Worcestershire CEO, Ashley Giles, said: "He is the perfect team-man, someone who puts the good of the team ahead of any individual success.

"Everyone at the club, players, coaches, staff, members, supporters, wishes him all the best."

The speaker evening will occur on Monday, November 18 at 7:30om in the Graeme Hick pavilion.
