WORCESTER WARRIORS have confirmed that they have formally submitted an application to the Rugby Football Union to join the new Tier 2 league.
The new league has been introduced by England Rugby ahead of the 2025/26 season, with aspirations of a 'whole game solution'.
In Warriors' official statement, the club has said: "This move is a significant step in our ongoing commitment to return to competitive rugby at Sixways and build a sustainable future for the club.
"We look forward to working closely with the RFU throughout the application process and will keep fans and supporters updated on our progress.
"We acknowledge that there are still many hurdles to cross and eagerly anticipate the next challenge."
The Warriors' last Gallagher Premiership game occurred in September 2022, when they defeated Newcastle at Sixways.
Other former Premiership sides looking to re-join the league include Wasps and London Irish.
