Worcester Wolves secured a much-needed win against Liverpool to end their losing streak.

Wolves triumphed 82-73 at the University of Worcester Arena on Saturday (November 9), marking only their second win in six National Basketball League Division Two outings.

The Wolves pulled off an impressive comeback after trailing 41-32, scoring 14 unanswered points to lead 46-41 at half-time.

Wolves coach Dean Blake said: "Today gave an indication of what we can do if we stay focused.

"We fell behind in the first half but were able to pull it back.

"When we move the basketball around and share the basketball we can compete against most teams in this league."

Wolves began the final quarter with a 66-58 lead, which they extended with a dash to the basket and a bonus foul shot by Finn Rennie.

Despite a brief threat from Liverpool, who reduced the deficit to 72-67 with four minutes remaining, the Wolves maintained their lead.

Rennie and Jacob Dearman each contributed 15 points to the Wolves' total, while Wilfrid Santhe scored 18.

But it was Emmanuel Yeboah that stole the day, scoring a double-double of 26 points and securing 19 rebounds.

Wolves' next fixtures see them face a series of top-four teams, starting with away games at Derbyshire Arrows on Saturday (November 16) and Manchester Magic a fortnight later.

They will return to the University of Worcester Arena on Saturday, December 7 to take on Leicester Warriors.

Coach Blake added: "Today was a good day for us.

"We’ll carry on working hard in practice and look to carry over some momentum for the next few matches."
