WORCESTER CITY picked up another three points on the road, winning 2-0 against Coventry Sphinx.
Two goals in the second half from Taylor Townsend and Elliott Hartley were enough for City to bring home the win.
An even start to the game with both sides pressuring, saw Sphinx get the first chance on goal. Roan Newey was allowed to turn on the edge of the box, but Haydn Whitcombe was able to watch the shot run wide.
Soon after, Felix Miles was expertly played through by Kyle Belmonte. Miles was brought down thanks to a tough challenge from the Coventry defender. With Mace and Miles stood over the ball, it was Miles who would take the chance, hitting one into the top right corner of Coventry's goal - Coventry only maintained their clean sheet thanks to an outstanding, stretching save from Coventry's Charlie Woods.
Despite an extended period of attacking dominance from City, it wasn't long until the defence was called into action. Coventry did managed to break through the backline, with Logan Stoddart called into action to produce an outstanding last-ditch slide tackle, not allowing the forward to get his shot off.
The game did get away from the referee as the half time whistle drew closer. A bad series of foul calls saw a yellow eventually produced for Sphinx's Shay Willock, after a hard hit on Charlie Wise.
City looked wholly dominant in the second half, with much of the action unfolding around Coventry's area.
It didn't take long for City to take the lead early on in the second half. Taylor Townsend received the ball in the box, took a touch and then tucked it past Coventry's keeper.
The game didn't see any clear chances for a while following the goal, until Elliott Hartley doubled Worcester's lead, pouncing on a poor touch from the defender, nicking the ball and finishing in off the post.
Ultimately, it was another win on the road, another three points and another clean sheet for a City side in fine form.
City have further consolidated their strong standing in the table with the victory.
Worcester can go into their next league game on Saturday (November 16), against Boldmere St Michaels, full of confidence.
