WORCESTER CITY WOMEN will play Barnsley Women's FC in the FA National League Division One Midlands, this Sunday (November 10).
Worcester have experienced a tumultuous start to the fourth tier of women's football, having won just one game of their opening nine games.
Their sole victory came away against Solihull Moors in September. Olivia Mitcham grabbed an early goal in the third minute, with Worcester holding strong for the remainder of the game to take the three points.
The side now sit in eleventh spot, within the relegation zone on goal difference. However a win against seventh-placed Barnsley could move them out of the drop zone and towards attaining safety from demotion.
Barnsley come into the game off the back of a 4-0 loss, at home, to Loughborough Lightning. They are winless and goalless in their last three matches in all competitions.
City will be hoping they can take advantage of that, and build off of their win in The Adobe Women's FA Cup to secure three points at Sixways this weekend.
Worcester's last match, against Stamford AFC in the cup, saw a back-and-forth game in which both sides took the lead, with substitute Annie Highway coming on at half time and making all the difference - scoring a brace to send City into the next round with a 3-2 victory.
Worcester kick off at home this Sunday (November 10), at 2pm.
