RGS Worcester's rugby teams have recorded 34 wins in 41 fixtures so far this season.

This impressive run of victories was achieved in the first half term, with three teams advancing to the second round of the National Cup competition.

A highlight of the season so far includes the Under 14s defeating King's School Worcester in "challenging" weather conditions and the Under 15s securing a "hard-fought win" against Malvern College.

The school's head of rugby, Rob Lewis, said: "Starting the season so strongly speaks volumes about the dedication and talent of our players and coaches.

"Our time in South Africa was invaluable, providing excellent preparation and bonding for the season.

"We are optimistic about the progress each team can achieve."

The Senior First XV team has been showed their mettle, winning four out of their first five matches, including victories over King’s Gloucester and Christ College Brecon.

The Under 16s have also risen to the challenge of a higher competition level, with several players playing for the first and second XV teams.

The transition from junior rugby to senior rugby for the lower school (years seven and eight) is evident, with all year nine teams currently unbeaten.

The school's rugby programme is delivered by specialist coaches with a wealth of playing and coaching experience.

All age groups and levels at the school are coached by former international players.

The school has outlined player safety as a priority, with year seven pupils beginning their rugby experience playing alternative forms such as touch rugby and 'hugby'.
