WORCESTER CITY FC triumphed 2-1 over Coleshill Town, thanks to a stoppage time winner from Kyle Belmonte.

As both sides settled into the game, the first quality chance came from Worcester's Felix Miles, who beat his man and blasted the ball goalwards - hitting the bar from just outside the box.

Soon after, Coleshill went up the other end, winning a corner. Their chance from the corner beat Haydn Whitcombe, however, Adam Mace's heroics saw the ball hit away on the line.

Coleshill kept up the pressure coming again via a shot from Ben Usher-Shipway. Whitcombe made a strong reflex save to keep the ball out and maintain Worcester's clean sheet.

Worcester grabbed the opener via a corner. The ball was whipped in, with the initial chance saved from Tyrese Warmington. The ensuing goalmouth scramble saw the ball turned in by Charlie Wise.

Worcester came close through another Charlie Wise set-piece in the latter stages of the first half. The towering defender headed the ball towards the goal, with it falling just wide of the post.

Just before the half-time whistle blew, Mace produced another moment of defensive magic. Clearing the ball off the line for a second time, following Ben Usher-Shipway's shot.

The second half was initially quite even, with both sides producing chances, but neither capitalising on them. In the 62nd minute, Hayward was forced to go off after falling to the floor in significant discomfort.

Coleshill drew level soon after as Matt Hughes received the ball in the middle of the box, and neatly placed it into the bottom left corner.

The game seemed even from that point on as each side matched the other, producing chances but not going ahead. Until, in the dying embers of the game, in the second minute of stoppage time Kyle Belmonte met a Prince Henry cross and headed it past the keeper sending the Worcester faithful into utter pandemonium.

It was another great result for City after their 6-1 win over Rugby Town last time out. This result sees Chris Cornes' side rise to third in the league.

Their next game comes as they play away to Wellingborough Town on Tuesday (November 5)
