WORCESTER CITY travel to relegation threatened Rugby Town in a crucial match to keep their play-off charge alive.
City will be keen to bounce back from their 3-2 defeat against high-flying Sporting Khalsa which had seen them leading 2-1 at half-time, before conceding twice in the final ten minutes.
They remained fifth and in the play-offs with two more points than Walsall Wood in sixth and Sutton Coldfield in seventh, but both sides have two games in hand and could easily jump above them in the coming months.
Thankfully, there are no further additions to the physio's bench, with just Calvin Dinsley and Izak Reid still out of action.
City's most recent meeting with Rugby Town was a 2-0 victory in the extra preliminary round of the FA Cup in 2020 at Butlin Road.
Since then, both sides have been promoted to the fourth step, with drastically different starts to the 2024/25 season.
The Warwickshire side had a solid start to their campaign, picking up wins against Darlaston Town and Racing Club Warwick along with two draws and a loss in their opening five league matches.
Since then, however, Town have been hit with a terrible run of form, picking up just two points from eight matches and being dumped out of the FA Cup with a 4-1 defeat against Hednesford Town.
Top scorer Trey Charles ended his run of six games without a goal when he scored a 89th minute consolation penalty in a 5-1 loss to Hinckley LRFC on Saturday, and will be keen to get back to free-scoring form in front of the home crowd.
Elsewhere, Worcester Raiders will head South for their match against second place Roman Glass St George.
The Bristol-based side have picked up 10 wins from 14 league matches so far this season and will be looking to catch league leaders Hartpury University.
Roman Glass St George picked up their first loss in the league earlier this month, when they lost three two to Pershore Town.
