An up-and-coming racing driver from Worcester is looking to extend his championship lead this weekend.
Haydn Chance will compete in the penultimate round of the Ligier European Series at Mugello today (Friday, September 27) and tomorrow (Saturday, September 28).
The 21-year-old leads the championship by 15 points, after a difficult weekend at Spa in August.

Despite being one of the fastest drivers at Spa, he was spun on the first lap of the first race and had to claw his way back to sixth.
In the second race, his teammate Theo Miscouris was involved in an incident, leaving Chance to finish second.
Chance said: "Spa was not an ideal weekend but I did come away with some points and maintain the lead of the drivers' championship.
"This weekend at Mugello I am hoping for better results, the stress levels are definitely higher as I need to get maximum points to ensure we go to Portimao with a comfortable lead and seal the championship."
The weekend will start with two practice sessions on Friday, followed by two qualifying sessions.
There will be two races on Saturday, the first at 9am and the second at 1.30pm.
Chance, who is rated as an FIA silver driver, is taking on a new challenge in 2024 by racing in the series, having previously competed in the 2023 Radical Cup UK Championship, finishing fourth overall.
Towards the end of 2023, he competed in the Radical World Finals in Portugal, taking four wins out of four to become the Radical World Champion.
His first step into cars came in 2021 when he competed in three rounds of the Ginetta Junior Championship.
In 2015 he started his motorsport career in karting, going on to take part in the British Kart Championships in 2020 in the X30 class.
The series was launched in 2020 by Ligier Automotive and the European Le Mans Series.
It is a single-make series dedicated to Ligier's latest cars, the Ligier JS P4 and the Ligier JS2 R.
The Ligier European Series takes place over six rounds during the European Le Mans Series events, with one round on the Le Mans track for the first time in 2022.
