WORCESTER City women managed to gain an impressive win on the road as they beat Solihull Moors 1-0.
Olivia Mitcham's early strike saw the club bounce back from a disappointing 2-1 home defeat to Notts County last time out.
This saw Worcester pick up their first league win of the campaign after six consecutive defeats.
The clean sheet will also be welcome for City after they conceded four goals in five of their opening six league fixtures.
City went into the game very positive with a few early chances, and this quickly paid off, with City opening things up early on in the third minute.
The chance saw Olivia Mitcham slot the ball around the keeper, after some good combinations in the middle of the field.
City had good early control of the game, with Annie Highway picking up lots of loose balls in the centre.
Worcester continued to press high throughout the first half, leading to mistakes from the home side and more opportunities for themselves.
As the first half went on, Solihull Moors grew into the game, creating a few good chances that forced Sofia Stolt to make two great saves and a goal-line clearance from the City defence.
The second half saw a much closer game, with both sides having good chances to put the ball into the back of the net.
Mitcham saw herself one on one with the keeper, but was unable to convert the chance whilst Keeley Crew put one just wide of the post.
Cerys Dolloway also hit just wide from a corner, but neither could penetrate into the goal mouth.
As the half progressed, Solihull Moors didn’t make it easy coming back at City with opportunities to score.
One chance led to a great clearing stop on the line from Baldwin.
At the end of 90 minutes City see their first three points in the Division One Midlands league, with Mitcham’s goal separating the two sides.
Next up Worcester have a home clash against Boldmere St Michaels at home on October 6 before they travel to Sutton Coldfield town on October 27.
