Worcester driver Haydn Chance is heading to Spa-Francorchamps looking to extend his championship lead.
Following a successful start to the season, Chance is aiming for another win in his first season driving the Team Virage Ligier JS P4, which he shares with Theo Micouris.
Chance, a professional racing driver rated FIA silver, is currently competing in the 2024 Ligier European Series.
He previously raced in the 2023 Radical Cup UK championship, finishing fourth overall.
However, he ended his 2023 season on a high note, winning four consecutive races at the Radical World Finals in Portugal, thus becoming the Radical World Champion.
Chance began his car racing career in 2021 in the Ginetta Junior Championship.
His motorsport journey started in 2015 with karting, culminating in participation in the British Kart Championships in 2020.
The Ligier European Series is a single-make series featuring the Ligier JS P4, a sports prototype.
Chance said: "I can’t wait for the next round of the Ligier European Series at Spa-Francorchamps.
"It's easily one of the best tracks, if not the best track on the calendar this year.
"We have had a long break since the last round which has given me plenty of time to prepare.
"The goal for this weekend is clear—score more points and maintain our lead in the championship."
The unpredictable weather of the Ardennes forest adds an extra layer of challenge to the Spa Francorchamps track.
The weekend's schedule kicks off with the first practice at 9am on Friday, followed by the second practice at 1.15pm.
Qualifying sessions are set for 3.35pm and 3.55pm.
Two races are scheduled for Saturday, the first at 9.05am and the second at 12.50pm.
Fans can follow Heat Three of the 2024 Ligier European Series season via the championship's social media channels.
Launched in 2020, the Ligier European Series is organised by Ligier Automotive and the European Le Mans Series, featuring the Ligier JS P4 and the Ligier JS2 R.
The series consists of six rounds during the European Le Mans Series events, with one round on the 24 Hours of Le Mans track, added in 2022.
