WORCESTER were involved in a high-scoring affair in their penultimate game of the 2023/24 season on Saturday as the Regional 2 Midlands West season approaches the final round of games.
Worcester, who have finished second-bottom in the table, have only managed the single victory this season and that was way back in September when they triumphed 45-34 against bottom-of-the-league Berkswell & Balsall.
They did produce a valiant display at home to Moseley Oak earlier this month in a 17-17 draw and it was another encouraging performance on Saturday at home to Stratford.
They secured a bonus-point for four tries in the 29-45 defeat but the visitors would not be denied a bonus-point victory of their own.
Elsewhere, it was a memorable day for Silhillians as their 32-17 win over title rivals Stow-on-the-Wold secured them the championship and promotion.
Third-placed Newent lost 17-10 at fourth-placed Cheltenham in another top-of-the-table clash, whilst Hereford edged a thrilling affair with Shipton on Stour, winning 35-29.
Malvern recorded a fifth win of the campaign at bottom side Berkswell by 32-26 and finally, Ludlow beat Moseley 26-3.
The final round of games will take place on April 6 - although Malvern and Ludlow to place next weekend - where there is potential for plenty of changes in the final standings up for grabs.
