TWO of Worcester City ABC's (Amateur Boxing Club) boxers have reached the Midlands Finals of the National Junior Championships following wins at the weekend.
Both Jay Powell and Jayden Bryce were in action in the first round of the championships in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Powell stopped his opponent in the third round having given him a standing count in the first. Bryce also gave his opponent a standing count in the second round and was on the verge of stopping his opponent, but in the end, he won via unanimous decision.
Both boxers did the club proud and will now head to the Midlands Finals on Sunday, where they will hope to keep their run in the National Junior Championships on track.
In other news at the club, they revealed last week that they will be hosting their Home Show on Sunday April 21.
All boxers will be showcasing their talents and information regarding tickets will be out soon.
One of those who will likely be on show is the new national champion, Caitlyn Wise, who earlier this month won all three fights at the Youth National Championships to be crowned English number one.
Congratulations to Caitlyn and Worcester ABC.
