ROMAN Glass St George have set-up a Wiseman Lighting Floodlit Cup Final with Worcester City after coming from behind to beat Abingdon United 5-2.
The Hellenic League Division One (Step 6) side Abingdon led 2-0 at the break and were 45 minutes from a huge upset against Premier (Step 5) outfit Roman Glass.
But five second-half goals, including two each for Shea Mannings and substitute Loui Ward, helped save Glass' blushes.
That sets up an all-Premier tie with City in the final, which will be a two-legged (both games in mid-week) affair in March. The first leg is scheduled to take place on March 12, with the reverse leg on March 19.
That will mean City's scheduled league games on those two Tuesday nights (Roman Glass and Mangotsfield United) will have to be rearranged, causing yet more fixture congestion for both clubs in what is already a hectic final two months of the 23/24 campaign.
Glass currently sit fifth in the Hellenic Premier and are in a good position to reach the post-season play-offs, whilst City are on their way to the title, three points clear at the top with three games still in hand over second-placed Corsham Town.
