OFFICIALS at Stourport Swifts are urging supporters to plan their journeys 'well ahead of time' on Saturday for the highly-anticipated Isuzu FA Vase round of 16 tie between Stourport Swifts and Worcester City.
Just under 2000 people will be in attendance at Walshes Meadow, where City and Swifts will be playing for a place in the last eight of the competition that has a Wembley final at the end of it.
This Saturday will be the biggest crowd ever at Stourport's ground, surpassing their previous record of 1400 when they faced Hereford nine years ago in 2015.
With that in mind, car parking outside the ground will be difficult. Spaces are limited at the cricket & rugby club car park (Walshes Farm, Dunley Rd, Stourport-on-Severn DY13 0AA) but they are offering car parking for £5 (cash) if you arrive early enough.
There are only a handful of spaces outside the main entrance to the football club. But these will most likely be taken by club officials, players and volunteers on the morning of the game.
The best advice is to park away from the football club and make your way to the ground on foot. The ground is just a five-minute walk from the high street (A451) which has a number of car parks.
The biggest (best option) for car parking can be found at Severn Meadows Car Park 2 & 3 (Moorhall Ln, Stourport-on-Severn DY13 8RB), where you can park for the afternoon for around £5. But there are also spaces at Lickhill Car Park (Lickhill Rd, Stourport-on-Severn DY13 8SB) with similar pricing.
Other parking options in the town include: Vale Road (Vale Rd, Stourport-on-Severn DY13 8YJ), Riverside Meadows Car Park (Stourport-on-Severn DY13 8UX) and Bridge Street (fairground parking, Bridge Inn, 10 Bridge St, Stourport-on-Severn DY13 8UX) But these are smaller parking spots and will go quickly. Prices also vary.
There is also the possibility of parking at the pub next to the football ground (The Old Beams) but these are for customers of the pub only and people parking there and not using the pub could face being fined. The club say there may be stewards on site to offer more information about parking at the pub on the day.
There is also the option of parking in the residential areas heading out of the bottom of the town on the A451. Side streets do have areas for parking but these, again, will be taken quickly.
The town of Stourport is likely to be incredibly busy from late morning onwards so our advice is to get there as early as possible to avoid missing out on a place to park. For any other queries, do get in touch with our sports reporter on Twitter (@Mcossalifrancis) and he will be able to help out.
