AN array of trophies and medals were handed out to Worcester cyclists at their annual awards ceremony.
This year the club recognised the increasing popularity of gravel biking, mountain biking, cyclo-cross and audaxing for which awards were presented. The club also recognised the dedication of its members and this year Julie Cook won the Dickenson Cup for organising the well-being 100 ride.
The younger section of the club is booming thanks in part to Paul Sobczyk who was awarded the Alec Davies Trophy - a lifetime award for prolonged and dedicated service to the youth section of WSJCC.
Quinn Holdstock won the bronze skills award and the Paul Sobczyk young rider of the year went to Isabelle Dent.
The club is well known for its weekly time trials and Oliver Church won the bronze medal under 16 with Rachael Alexander, Sarah Watmore and Andy Bradley awarded bronze in the older age groups.
Silver went to Tom Mansfield, Andrew Daniel, Steve Clarke, Chris Giles, Mark Corbett, Martin Lloyd and Nick Bent.
Gold medals went to Dave Pullen, Simon Garrett and Nigel Jinks .
The Juvenile Shield went to Oliver Church, the Windsor Challenge shield to Adam Pollock, the Farmer Challenge Cup to Andrew Daniel, the Brittlebank Bowl to Richard Allcock and the Heron Shield to Nigel Jinks
Adam Pollock won the Brittlebank Cup for the fastest male on the Ankerdine Hill Climb and the Sunnycam Cup went to Nixie Turner as the fastest female on the climb.
George Thorne won the F Wilkes Cup and the Bob Short Cup for the fastest times in club or open events.
Rachael Alexander won the Dinley Cup and the Beauchamp Cup went to Debbie Hodson.
The D&G Hughes Cup was won by Steve Clarke, The Kinnersley Cup by Andrew Daniel and the James Cup went to Andy Bradley.
The Underwood Cup went to John Holden
Andrew Daniel and Richard Allcock were joint winners of the Presidents Cup. Richard also won the Catlow Trophy.
The Fagan Cup went to Hilary Markland and Richard Maltby was crowned newcomer of the year and was awarded the Ethel Byrd cup.
For their audaxing David Hunter and Tim Cox jointly won the Fildes Cup and Clare Baldry won the Frost Cup.
