WORCESTER City made it 11 straight wins in all competitions on Saturday as they booked their spot in the third round of the Isuzu FA Vase thanks to a comfortable victory at Wolverhampton Casuals.
Goals from Liam Lockett, Dylan Hart and Jamie Insall saw City progress past the second round of the Vase for only the second time.
Winger Lockett scored his 17th goal of the season in just the 10th minute as he stepped around right-back James Pritchard in the box before slotting past keeper Sebastian Osment.
City controlled possession and territory for the remainder of the half but a minute before the break, a rare cross into the visitors' box was brilliantly headed into the top corner by Casuals' Joe Drakeley totally against the run of play.
But City would take a lead into the break as straight after conceding, a free-kick found its way to left-back Adam Mace on the edge of the box, who struck a fierce shot on goal that was saved by Osment, but only into the path of Hart, who reacted first to tap home on the rebound.
Chris Cornes' side deservedly led after a dominant half of football and the game was soon put out of Cassies' reach six minutes into the second-half when Mace's corner was flicked into the back of the net at the front post by Insall.
Helped in the main by midfielders Calvin Dinsley and Connor Gater, City bossed what was left of the cup tie and, in truth, they could have made it a more convincing score line if they wanted to.
But in the end, it was a commanding performance from City, who will be in the hat for the third round on Monday at 1PM.
