WORCESTER Raiders moved back into third in the Hellenic League Premier after Bailey Fuller's double guided them to a 2-1 win at Fairford Town.
Having drawn three games in a row, Raiders were looking to end their mini-winless run and did do with a battling victory at Fairford.
Fuller opened the scoring just two minutes before the break but Fairford's Jamal Lawrence levelled almost instantly to make the score 1-1 at the interval.
After the break, the game continued in a highly competitive fashion, with neither side taking a step back.
Fuller then scored his second with a tidy finish just before the hour to swing the game back in Raiders' favour.
The visitors had plenty of the ball after going ahead but the hosts almost equalised for a second time in the 78th minute, but Jake Donnelly cleared off the line to secure the points.
Karl Gormley's men move up to third in the league standings, two points off second-placed Corsham Town, who lost in their top-of-the-table clash with Worcester City on Saturday.
Raiders are back in action on Wednesday night when they open their account in the Worcestershire Senior Cup at Pershore Town (7:45 pm kick-off).
