WORCESTER RFC secured their first win of the season over the weekend against Berkswell & Balsall.
Worcester beat the Warwickshire side 45-34 at home on Saturday, September 16 after looking for redemption following their two losses to Malvern and Shipston-on-Stour.
Berkswell & Balsall sit at the bottom of the Regional 2 Midlands West league, with just one point, and Worcester sits in ninth with five points.
A post-match interview with man of the match Will Pawsey along with Connor Evans and Alex Peel saw the players praise the teamwork which took them to victory.
Will Pawsey said: "It was good fun today, it was good to get all the boys out and to get a little bit back after the last couple of weeks.
"We all pulled together and put a result on.
Connor Evans emphasised how the performance that the team gave in the game was a "pack effort".
He said: "Our structure from the lineouts was unbeatable really. We were strong in the area, securing most of the balls and then setting up for those mauls.
"It was a pack effort. We worked hard and the structure was there. The training is clearly working, it is all coming together now, we just have things to build on and keep working on to get even better."
Alex Peel, said: "There is a lot to build on with the Colts coming through this year.
"Last week there were about eight and this week there were about six and for a lot it is their first time being in men's senior rugby.
"It is a great building block for them with a great win today. A good solid team performance, first half we were fantastic, second half we dropped off for 20 minutes.
"For sixty minutes of the game we played with 14 men so it is good character shown from all the boys."
Speaking ahead of the game against Hereford on Saturday, September 23, Peel said that defensively the team can improve.
Peel said: "We looked off the ball really strong today, we can build on that through Tuesday and Thursday with our tackling. We will get there."
