Worcester City are “riding the crest of a wave” as they head into FA Cup action at Claines Lane this weekend.
The Blue and Whites welcome Leek Town in the second qualifying round on Saturday (September 16) in a 3pm kick-off.
And despite Leek being established a level above City, there is belief within the club that they can keep their good form going.
City go into the match on the back of a six-game winning run and boss Chris Cornes will be looking for his side to keep that going.
“We played midweek at Westfields and came away with a 5-3 win,” he said. “It was a good opportunity to play a few of the lads who haven’t had enough minutes and some that have been out on loan - and to get some rest into a few.

“We’ll have some of them in training tonight and do a bit of preparation for the weekend, but the lads are pretty much managing themselves at the moment.
“We’re on a hell of a run and confidence is sky high at the moment. We're riding the crest of a wave.
"The dressing room is a fantastic place right now, both for the management group and for the playing group.
“Everybody is really buying into what we’re trying to do - which is much easier when you’re doing well.
“But we’ve been behind in games and come back, so we’ve had a little bit of adversity and come through it.”
There’s a financial incentive to win on Saturday, too, as the FA Cup second qualifying round comes with a prize pot of £3,375 for the winners.
Looking beyond the cup, Cornes isn’t getting ahead of himself despite City’s strong start to the season.
“We haven’t set out goals as such,” he said. “We’re all in football to win things - if you say you’re not you’re lying - and we’re on a good run at the moment so we’ll try to keep that going.”
Cornes said January may be the right time to stop and reassess the club’s ambitions for the season, but admitted he has his eyes on the top five, which would secure a play-off place.
